where is god

Author: channu

alright…… i know half of you reading this have already rolled your eyes over and swore out loud ,”oh no!not this topic again”.but that doesnt deter me from writing what i intend to write……

according to me, God exists in circumstances. He exists in people. He exists in you and me. all we have to do is to realize that sometimes it is not us but the God in us that does certain deeds.

when all hopes shattered for aragon, gimli and the rest of rohan, the dawn of the fifth day brought out the white rider. with him came hope and in fact the victory…… Gandalf the white was God.

heard the story of the king who drew inspiration from watching the spider build its web ?? God personified himself as the Spider.

when you are all tired of reading in the midnight and your eyes droop with the tiredness, ever wondered what prompted your mum to make that special cup of tea??

how do you explain the “hi there” message that you get from your special friend who went amiss all this while to ring in your mobile when you have just felt the brunt of your greatest desolation??

what makes that weary traveler take the next step towards his destination when every part of his body urges him to stop?

what makes you realize that you have the power to shatter the hopes of your soul mate with one word and yet never lets you to use your legacy…… Your conscience or the God in YOU??

what made one man to stand upright and brave the sandstorm when a whole stadium scrammed for shelter……. was it Sachin or was it the God in Sachin??

well actualy after reading ur post i was made to think of all these things.. as of now i have never been worried abt the existence of god. the only thing is i believed there is something called god and its powerful. and after reading ur post i get a feeling of god being present in every part of life.. for example..in ur post u spoke abt mom preparing a cup of tea.. i dont know whether god made her do that.. but i would certainly say its the love that ur mom has for u.. in this case i consider that love to be the god.. and as u said it goes on for all the things u said.. great post man.. keep up the good work…

An atheist professor of philosophy speaks to his class on the problem science has with God, The Almighty. He asks one of his new students to stand and…..
    >
    > Prof: So you believe in God?
    > Student: Absolutely, sir.
    > Prof: Is God good?
    > Student: Sure.
    > Prof: Is God all-powerful?
    > Student: Yes.
    > Prof: My brother died of cancer even though he prayed to God to heal him. Most of us would attempt to help others who are ill. But God didn’t. How is this God good then? Hmm?
    >
    > (Student is silent.)
    > Prof: You can’t answer, can you? Let’s start again, young fella. Is God good?
    > Student: Yes.
    > Prof: Is Satan good?
    > Student: No.
    > Prof: Where does Satan come from?
    > Student: From…God…
    > Prof: That’s right. Tell me son, is there evil in this world?
    > Student: Yes.
    > Prof: Evil is everywhere, isn’t it? And God did make everything. Correct?
    > Student: Yes.
    > Prof: So who created evil?
    > (Student does not answer.)
    >
    > Prof: Is there sickness? Immorality? Hatred? Ugliness? All these terrible things exist in the world, don’t they?
    > Student: Yes, sir.
    > Prof: So, who created them?
    > (Student has no answer.)
    >
    > Prof: Science says you have 5 senses you use to identify and observe the world around you. Tell me, son…Have you ever seen God?
    > Student: No, sir.
    > Prof: Tell us if you have ever heard your God?
    > Student: No, sir.
    > Prof: Have you ever felt your God, tasted your God, smelt your God? Have you ever had any sensory perception of God for that matter?
    > Student: No, sir. I’m afraid I haven’t.
    > Prof: Yet you still believe in Him?
    > Student: Yes.
    > Prof: According to empirical, testable, demonstrable protocol, science says your GOD doesn’t exist. What do you say to that, son?
    > Student: Nothing. I only have my faith.
    > Prof: Yes. Faith. And that is the problem science has.
    > Student: Professor, is there such a thing as heat?
    > Prof: Yes.
    > Student: And is there such a thing as cold?
    > Prof: Yes.
    > Student: No sir. There isn’t. (The lecture theatre becomes very quiet with this turn of events.)
    > Student: : Sir, you can have lots of heat, even more heat, superheat, mega heat, white heat, a little heat or no heat. But we don’t have anything called cold. We can hit 458 degrees below zero which is no heat, but we can’t go any further after that. There is no such thing as cold . Cold is only a word we use to describe the absence of heat. We cannot measure cold. Heat is energy . Cold is not the opposite of heat, sir, just the absence of it .
    >
    > (There is pin-drop silence in the lecture theatre.)
    > Student: What about darkness, Professor? Is there such a thing as darkness?
    > Prof: Yes. What is night if there isn’t darkness?
    > Student : You’re wrong again, sir. Darkness is the absence of something. You can have low light, normal light, bright light, flashing light…..But if you have no light constantly, you have nothing and it’s called darkness, isn’t it? In reality, darkness isn’t. If it were you would be able to make darkness darker, wouldn’t you?
    > Prof: So what is the point you are making, young man?
    > Student: Sir, my point is your philosophical premise is flawed.
    > Prof: Flawed? Can you explain how?
    > Student: Sir, you are working on the premise of duality. You argue there is life and then there is death, a good God and a bad God. You are viewing the concept of God as something finite, something we can measure. Sir, science can’t even explain a thought. It uses electricity and magnetism, but has never seen, much less fully understood either one.To view death as the opposite of life is to be ignorant of the fact that death cannot exist as a substantive thing. Death is not the opposite of life: just the absence of it. Now tell me, Professor.Do you teach your students that they evolved from a monkey?
    > Prof: If you are referring to the natural evolutionary process, yes, of course, I do.
    > Student: Have you ever observed evolution with your own eyes, sir?
    > (The Professor shakes his head with a smile, beginning to realize where the argument is going.)
    > Student: Since no one has ever observed the process of evolution at work and cannot even prove that this process is an on-going endeavor, are you not teaching your opinion, sir? Are you not a scientist but a preacher?
    >
    > (The class is in uproar.)
    > Student: Is there anyone in the class who has ever seen the Professor’s brain? (The class breaks out into laughter.)
    > Student: Is there anyone here who has ever heard the Professor’s brain, felt it, touched or smelt it? No one appears to have done so. So, according to the established rules of empirical, stable, demonstrable protocol, science says that you have no brain, sir. With all due respect, sir, how do we then trust your lectures, sir?
    > (The room is silent. The professor stares at the student, his face unfathomable.)
    > Prof: I guess you’ll have to take them on faith, son.
    > Student: That is it sir… The link between man & God is FAITH . That is all that keeps things moving & alive.

:) i can only laugh.. i wrote a very big comment and the i closed the accidentally.. :)
    neways life is hopeless..

its mom’s care and love towards the child thats not letting her sleep without getting to know that u r carrying on well with ur studies. if u r saying god is giving it thru her, i believe thats a discount to her care and lovefor you..

everything that u said happens from chaos theory, randomness or life being hopeless.. if v start saying that god made all the theories thru einstein then what a discount to a person who over years invested his time, money, hardwork, focus, belief to make things happen. know wat keerthi said after seeing the master piece IPHONE, “iraivanin padiape padaipu”**. if by any chance Steve Jobs get to hear that, as he again says, “shoe lace la thooku potu he ll hang”**..Sitting under a light and as i write this i thank the passion, belief, hardwork, challenge, aggression that edison carried to continue with his experiments even after 16000 failures. i thank the courage of ambani that made him quit the job and his decision to come back to india. a 10th grade failure with his leadership qualities created an empire called Reliance.
Personally, i thank u. i saw ur blogs got inspired and i started a blog. this is wat ur legacy is. this is wat is making a differnce in people’s life. i would say, honor people who u can see, rather than god. im not saying god is there or he is not there. im saying use ur time to honor people, honor their senses. i dono, thankin ur mom, thankin that friend, thanking the qualities of people makes a difference..

Thanks again for being an inspiration

and i wud say belief works da..
u have seen someone who is so confused and after going to temple or somewhere they feel that they have got an answer?! Temple doesn’t workout anything. What works is their mindset, their belief that if they go to temple everything will be fine! And that becomes the truth for them and that works for them..
    watever u believe works..

Well china since m an atheist I’ve to refute on this issue… See everything is chemistry and science… the affection that ur mom has on u is because of secretion of a particular type of chemical…don’t ask that how is the chemical secreting.. if u keep on asking questions then everything will eventually end up in a naught!!! The love that ur girl has towards to u is also science machi … everything is going like the way it is going .. u never know whether it is right or wrong until somebody teaches u!!.. if u been brought up in some AlQueada camps then u ll say “Killing an infidel is my birth right”… u ll never know wat is right n wat is wrong… its only science that makes u realise things… It can lead u in both ways too… i don’t disagree but on considering the good facts that it has taught i would rather prefer science than something called god !!! Anyways this being ur philosophical approach in ur writing i don’t want to let u down(though m no big philosopher to let u down!!!:)..)… goooooodd going machi … keep writing …

    @China
We have to get some terminology sorted out before we can have a rational discussion here. How do you use the term “God”? Thats very important because, if you are using it in the Einsteinian sense and calling the wonder that nature inspires in you “God”, then we would just be fighting over semantics. On the other hand, if you mean the personal “God” of organized religions then I’d have to say rather than your “God” creating you in one of his pensive moods, it was you who created “God” in one of your not-so-pensive moods. As one reader pointed out you don’t solve anything by positing a personal “God” to explain things in this world that is not understood. It only begs the question “Who created God?”, “Who created the guy who created God?” and so on ad infinitum. To explain the Unknown with the Known is what we call Science. To explain the Unknown with yet another Unknown is a form of Theological lunacy. It only creates an infinite regress. With respect to the story of our ex-President that one of the other readers related, even a 6 year old child with water in its head will see the utter idiocy of the so-called arguments put forth by Kalam and the even more stupid responses of his professor.
“Since no one has ever observed the process of evolution at work and cannot even prove that this process is an on-going endeavor”
Darwin cried!!!! Here we have one of the best “scientists” that our goodness forsaken country has produced in the last century saying that there is no evidence for evolution and that we believe it on faith. Well, what can you say. This is India! And this is exactly the reason why Indian “scientists”(I am, of course referring to “scientists” doing research in India and not to all scientists who were born in India) have not, do not and will not compete on the world stage.
